Links with Church and Community

The communities of Compton Martin and Ubley have given their wholehearted support to Ubley Primary School.

As well as our Rector, Jane Chamberlain, being a very active governor and contributing regularly to school assemblies, leaders of other local church communities also contribute to school life. The school's Open Evening is open to all the extended communities and special school church services at Harvest, Christmas (with a wonderful Nativity Play) and Easter are attended by local friends as well as parents. The school continues to send the proceeds of the Harvest Market to our link school in Msoro, Zambia.

In December, Ubley School children sang a melody of songs at the Bath Forum together with nine other primary schools in the county. The children later presented this music melody for the members of the Ubley Coffee Morning group where they brought delight to many of the older people of our village.

A display of the children's beautiful Fairtrade artwork  was on show at Compton Martin Village hall during Fairtrade Fortnight and afterwards in Ubley Church.
